Steel Sky, Return to Zork, Wing Commander, ET's Rugby League, Kens Labrinth, Ironman, Golden Axe, Leisuresuit Larry, Sim City, Recoil(prob my all time favourite game wish they had made a new version of this) all took many hours of my childhood from me

Does anyone remember an old game - it was kinda like Mech warrior but not - you could customize the gun pods on your Mech thing and then go rampaging - was quite gory from memory (lots of Blood and guts) and was a top down view

Cant remember the name.

But it was like X fighter or X machine or something...

Kind of like a little blue transformer, you could walk around, fly, or turn into a bike and shoot stuff on different levels.

Star Control 2. So many hours sunk into that game. Loved all the quirky races, great story and epic exploration.

In my youth, I read a book a day.

Reading a weeks worth of Wikipedia entries a day counts as a 'book'.

Also: mAngband, the multiplayer variant of the old Angband rogue like game based on Middle Earth is still the greatest MMO I've ever played.

Speaking of the old Rogue like games: NetHack is the best and Ragnarok (download) a close second.

Goldenaxe... the original civ game and syndicate were great.

As was original dune. and platform duke and commander keen and baldurs dash.

Oh the fun of editing autoexec.bat and system.files.to set irq and dma setting to get sound in games.

Address 220 irq 7 dma 5.

Ega cga tga and vga options.... as well.as making sure himem.sys was loaded for extended memory.

The youth of today has no idea how to start things.in dos or fault find hardware conflicts....
