Unfortunately my YouTube feed is flooded with Kony related videos now. Thankfully they are from thoughtful people who, like Oddball, have come to their own conclusion.
What, because people's opinions differ from yours, they're wrong? You're not prepared to call them "their own" unless they align more closely with what you, and others, have arrived at?What if people's "own" opinions where still to support the KONY campaign? Would you still lambast them?
Their opinion is "There is more to this Kony story than meets the eye and that you should go looking for information about the organisation BEFORE you make a decision for yourself"..
Goes without saying in everything you read/watch/hear I don't really need thousands of people all chanting the same thing. What people are really trying to say is "LOOK INTO IT AND HATE IT LIKE ME!" not look into it and make your own mind up.That's what you are trying to say as well going by your previous post, so don't give me that innocent line
According to the statistics: 30% of that goes to the actual cause. Net profit: $70,000,000.Thats what I hate.
That's some awesome black & white statistics you got there, Tiwa.
End Giovanni's Tyranny 2012!!
In the Generation II games, Giovanni has disappeared inexplicably after his final loss to Red, leaving Team Rocket scrambling and confused.
I will support something until it asks me for money. If you ask me for money, then it becomes business. And I take business VERY seriously.100+ million people know who KONY is? Cool. If each person gave $1 then that organisation just made $100,000,000.According to the statistics: 30% of that goes to the actual cause. Net profit: $70,000,000.Thats what I hate.
I'm not sure you understand the concept of a not-for-profit organization. If you really think thats how they are running I think you need to do some research. You know watching opinion youtube videos isn't actually real research, you wouldn't use youtube as a source for a research paper that's for sure
I would like to make a comment about this, but we will have to wait until the end of the year/next year for the release of 2012 financial reports.Suffice to say: They have made more money than the entirety of 2011.Now. You can go do the research to find out how I found that out.edit: And yes I know the Kony 2012 thing is not a scam, but the number of people who have seen the Kony thing is four times the population of Uganda. It is a marketing persons wet dream.
And these are supposed to be negatives??Do you only support unsuccessful NGO's?Is this just a case of tall poppies tiwa
but you don't care anyway

More than 77 million people around the world have watched the Kony 2012 video, but the victims of Joseph Kony have slammed the film following its premiere in Northern Uganda. The African Youth Initiative Network charity sought to change that, with plans to show the clip in outdoor theatres across northern Uganda. However further screenings have been cancelled after the "premiere" of the video on Tuesday night local time in Lira Town prompted an angry response.Event organisers were sent fleeing for cover when rocks were thrown as the crowd turned angry at the conclusion of the film.He told the Guardian after the screening people were "very angry" about the film."They were all saying, 'This is not about us, it does not reflect our lives'."People were most outraged about the Stop Kony campaign merchandise, such as T-shirts, posters and bracelets."It was very hurtful for them and their families to see posters, bracelets and buttons, all looking like slick campaign ads of the person most responsible for their shattered lives. One young man who lost four brothers and one of his arms said afterwards: 'How can anybody expect me to wear a T-shirt with Kony's name on it?'" Mr Ochen, whose own father and brother were abducted by the LRA, told the Guardian.
