i was doing this as i spawned with no weapon and couldnt find one...

Took me 2 hours to find my first weapon, it was in a barn. Didn't even fire it before i dropped it

I use a hatchet, but you are useless with no weapon (I think, i've only played for about 4 hours tops)

I made my FN FAL disappear in a tent :sorrow:
On the upside I got another m24... But my mission to get a vehicle was a failure.

I was looting the tents in Starry and a guy spawned into one. We both stopped and just watched each other, face to face. Trapped waiting to see what would happen for ages.
Then some russian voice came out and he legged it.

One really important mantra to have is never get attached to your gear.

Also: Take your time. Best advice I got when I started. This isnt a twitch shooter, and the engine doesn't allow for it. Creep, scout before moving, line your shots up and check your surroundings before you pull that trigger. You might down one zed and agro another 8

Discovered i can use a hatchet to create firewood when next to a tree! Hhmmmmmm, that wild pork was delicious....

However, after finishing the crackling, I notice my shotgun is missing. Probably burnt it in the fire. :stupid:

I am in the same boat as pop/cata. Getting  pretty boned by this game. In the hour or so i played last night, picked up about 4 deaths. And 2 of those deaths involved moving inland, and finding a house. Just to get some soda cans, before a bunch of zombies pop up and kill me.

I got a little confused as to how the servers work,
If I login NZ9 say jam for a couple of hours and manage to survive. If I then logout, and say later that night log back in. In order to play from where I left off do I have to join NZ9 or if I join any of the GetSome servers it will load into where I was last before I aborted?

You can join any server, and be exactly where you left off.


The server specific stuff comes in once you have vehicles and tents, those are kept on the server you find/place them

That's pretty much the game.
All scavenging comes with danger, the better the loot in the area, the more likely to die.
Then there are the random deaths in odd places, just because they saw you first.
Aaaaand then there are the bugs, that get you quite often.

Don't get too attached to your gear, there are no friendlies in Cherno and all your loots... Belong to me.
