my 2010 r1 got written off on the way home ( feral cat mid corner @ 80-90kmh :scared into front wheel at full lean = instant dismount and dead bike :saw:) :blush

will post photos eventually = lets say woodcraft are not that great in a high side the puck ripped off and the whole arm bent and twisted the frame mount.

Vortex rearset snapped off the frame on the right hand side - left hand side untouched in crash right side looked cosmetic till they went through it.

so 4 ribs and a broken ankle later...  and insurance just shipped me an ex demo 2011 r1 registered in dec 2012 with 500km on the clock. :bow

so its sitting in the garage waiting to be tinkered with.

have already on hand

Autotune with wide band.
Flashtune interface.

all the spare factory pegs and brackets and rearsets including pillion from the old bike as i had them off when it crashed... so i am going to butcher the spare pillion pegs and use the support sections and the right little piece for the brake res.

on the bike is a set of gytr cans

on order is

pcv

m4 y pipe or mjs cant decide but want to keep stock covers so it may be the mjs one.

Sequential smoked led tailight

Evotech Tail tidy

Watsen gloss black front indicators.

Gytr frame sliders

graves smog plates.

Leathers held up pretty danm well only light scuffing no tears ... i only ended up with a smal carpet burn scratch on my elbow area and forearm.

but then they got cut off..  as i couldnt move because of the busted ribs causing me an immense amount of pain so i told the ambo office to cut them rather that try move me around to unzip them and pull them off.

they did their job...

was wearing Nazran leathers 2 piece and  alpinestar boots and shark rsx helmet..

cant say enough good things about the helmet..

and also WEAR GOOD GEAR it helps ....

helmets design of crumple zones worked as designed ...  no headache or injury to head..  ill be buying another... the visor barley scratched they use a 3mm version.. even through back of helmet was dented and scratched bad.

You should quit riding motor bikes.

You're obviously no good at it.

I was lucky the break stayed in place without moving too much thanks to my boots which mean they didnt have to pin it.

Did insurance cover your riding gear? It should, if not hit them up about it.

This is why I am always amazed at the amount of people who ride in Jeans/shorts/jandals/tshirts/rain jackets etc.

My Brother had a similar accident in the UK - Wrote off a CBR600 and his leathers - riding without safety gear is bordering on suicidal

Wrang contents insurance...  Apart from needing photos and a quote to replace they were happy to cover that gear.

Just saw the thread dude.

That's a shame about the woodcraft and vortex gear, that stuff doesn't usually work very well in a highside, personally I replace all the high tensile bolts that brands tend to use with softer aluminium ones for this exact reason.

Good to hear you're ok dude, and looks as though you've got a nice new bike too!

definitly go shoei xr1100 and dont skimp on the leather, get a back protector too.
