Yeah, three phase AC from stator, Earth and DC feed out. Probably the same as every other bike just Honda does it nicer
Why nicer?

Are you trying to teach them a lesson or are you raiding a village??!?Reminds me of this:
BSH test booked for next Saturday.
My Bike is playing up Here is what has happened (any ideas on fixes wuld be o for orsome)Trouble startingWon't idle (with choke fully on or fully off)When it does start - the engine sounds sick (like it isn't firing properly)When you try to rev it in neutral - I can open the throttle about halfway and it barely gets passed 8,000 rpmPulled the tank off - checked the spark plugs (they were black as all sin - cleaned them) still having the issue.About to call a Motorbike mechanic to look at it - but before I do - Ideas?
Sounds like tuning, carbs aren't balanced, air-fuel ratio needs a tweak etcjust cause the previous guy rebuilt the carbs doesn't imply he tuned them, or tuned them well.if the plugs are black that suggests it's being over fueled, but that would make it easier to start.unless the plugs are already munted - there is a point where cleaning them wont do any good, plugs are cheap and you've only got 2.
4 - its a hornet - so an inline 4 -I read in several places that the hornet motors have 2 jets a small and a main?Do you think it is worth taking to a bike mechanic to get her sorted?
I thought it was a vtr.same rules apply.how'd your mechanical knowledge/confidence?
My best guess is that if the bike has been going fine and then does this all of a sudden is that the fuel tap might have to put in the reserve position.(reserve is there as a reminder that your fuel is getting low, it is a feature on most carburetor bikes)has this just happened suddenly or the whole time you have had it?
just started happening - Fuel is definately on ON and not on the Reserve - heaps of fresh fuel in the tank too/Have booked it in with Motorcycle Doctors - $300 estimate to get it working but that comes with a 12 month warranty and I have read nothing but good reviews of these guys on Kiwibiker - still - Le Sigh
